What is Hemp Oil?

Hemp Seed oil is dark to light green in color and has a nutty flavor. It is produced from the seeds of the Hemp plant, much like oils derived from olives, almonds, and coconut.  The Hemp plant is a variety of the Cannabis Sativa Species. You've probably heard of Cannabis as it relates to marijuana; however we would like to point out the differences.

Cannabis can be grown to contain high levels of "Tetrahydrocannabinol  (THC)", this component has psychoactive properties.  On the other hand, it can be grown in such a way that it contains higher concentrations of " Cannabinoids (CBD)" which actually has little to no psychoactive properties and is highly medicinal. This oil is made from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the plant, NOT from the seeds. Seeds taken from the latter contain less than 0.3% CBD.

Here at Kimberley Rose, we purchase high quality oil extracted from the SEEDS of the Cannabis genus, we call this "regular" Hemp Seed oil, or Hemp oil. This oil is high in polyunsaturated fats such as Omega-3, and Omega-6. It has potassium, magnesium, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2 and Vitamin E.

Hemp seed oil is full of elements that essentially act as food for your skin. With so many nourishing benefits we had to incorporate it in many of our products.  Check out our Patchouli Hemp Soap, any of our Salves, Beard oil , and Hair Serum all of  which contain at least 50% Hemp Seed oil!
